No one knows your child better than you do, but to help other caregivers, and supporting adults get to know your child, takes partnership. Some might think that this is not very necessary for their child to succeed, but I honestly differ in that opinion. I believe that partnering with the teachers in my children’s school will only help them to propel. I will like to share Simone’s story with you.
Simone is a mom of four. Since her child started Kindergarten, she has been experiencing poor communication from her child’s teacher and caregiver. Simone would only get feedback at pick-up time about her child’s day if there was a problem. Simone’s childs’ teacher did not reach out to her to express her concerns for her child. This constant negative information became overwhelming and stressful not just for Simone as a mom, but also for her child. Simone took the initiative to meet with her child’s teacher to collaborate on more positive ways to approach situations as it pertains to her child. Simone and the teacher agreed on choices and incentives so her child can have more positive outcomes throughout the school day. This is the email below after Simone advocated for her child.
When we partner with those to whom we have entrusted our children, the results are outstanding. We are helping our children to succeed in understanding rules and guidelines. When we provide information that helps our children to be known and understood by others, they can be their authentic selves. What are some of your partnership stories? Comment below!
