Are you a part of a parent community? I think being a part of a parent community for the betterment of our children is so important. I am glad you are a part of this parent community at Parents Making an Investment, but what about where you reside? In my neighborhood, a group of parents decided to get together and create a “buddygroup” for the children in the neighborhood. This group has birthed new relationships, hope, trust, and equality. The outcome for this group benefits our children in the neighborhood. The children also communicate with one another in the group chat about going to and from school.
Before this group was established, I was kinda worried that my child would be biking half a mile alone every day. Then when the winter months arrived, I worried about her walking home by herself because of the sunsets sooner. What I wasn’t aware of was that there were parents experiencing the same fear. Now because of this community of parents, my daughter and other children do not have to bike or walk alone to and from school.
In a Parent Community, everyone shares at least one thing in common; we are parents. We also hope/want what is best for our children. Trusting and opening up to other parents can be a big step, especially in the carpooling department. Partnering with other parents in your community/neighborhood can help to assure that children arrive at school on time and safely. I know it’s a challenge in this day and age to build relationships and exercise trust, even worse in a pandemic. There is so much going on right now pertaining to our children that having other parents along the journey can only be a blessing. Are you a part of a Parent Community?
