This school year has been very interesting; from Remote Learning, Hybrid Learning, to In-person Learning. Believe it or not, the end of the school year is fast approaching. What will your Summer look like? How do you incorporate learning into your summer break?. For my family and me Summer is more laid back, but we still get ready for the following school year. How I approach this goal of mine is what I want to share with you my tips for learning during summer vacation.
Approach to teaching your child during Summer break
Learning can still happen while enjoying the outdoor fun that summer brings. What I usually do for my children is have a Summer Curriculum. This curriculum usually includes Math, Writing, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. Each day we focus on one area of the curriculum for two hours out of the day. I plan activities throughout the day that my children will have to use Math Skills, Writing, Reading to complete the activity. Since we spend most of our time outside most of the activities I create are on the go.
Implement Learning On Summer Vacation
Getting away for the summer with your kids can be a learning opportunity. Planning a vacation, you can discuss with your kids where you will be going, the duration of your travel, and the distance from home. This will be a great time to research and implement math activities. Journaling is a wonderful way for your children to share their summer experiences through writing.
